Teams will compete in four different groups (A, B, C, and D) in a three day long tournament. In groups A and B we will play 2 rounds a day, for a total of 6 rounds. Whilst for groups C and D we’ll play a total of 8 rounds (3/3/2).
Group A: Amateur players with a minimum ranking of 1-dan and Professionals
Group B: Amateur players with a maximum ranking of 4-dan
Group C: Amateur players with a maximum ranking of 1-kyu
Group D: Amateur players with a maximum ranking of 7-kyu
A team is built from a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 players. Teams compete on three boards, without handicap. There are no limits on the nationality of the players.
Players without a defined team can participate as well. On Saturday morning we will either integrate these players into existing teams or we will build new teams according to the ranking of the players. So everyone will have the chance to play !
When registering a team, the deadline for which is 20:00 (CET) Friday 28th April, only the names of the players and their ranking (not the EGD-rating) need to be provided. A team-captain must also be nominated. The order within the team (who will play on board 1, board 2 and board 3) will be fixed by the team-captain. In Group A it can be done randomly (= independent from the announced rank !), but in the groups B, C and D the order must be done according to the ranking. The order per team must be fixed on Saturday morning (9:00 - 9:45 a.m.). This order, fixed at tournament-begin (including a possible 4th player), cannot be changed during the tournament.
While teams must be registered until 28th April (Friday) it is still possible to add an additional fourth player to the team up until the Saturday, 09:30 (CET) 29th April .
The Group A and B tournaments will be EGF Class A tournaments (Fischer-time 45 min basic, 15 sec adj. time), while the Group C and D tournaments will be EGF Class B tournaments (Fischer-time 30 min basic, 10 sec adj. time)
